Job summary

A major civil engineering contractor is seeking a Project/Senior Planner to work on station upgrades in West London. The successful candidate will have a degree in Civil Engineering and a strong background in planning, along with experience in the Rail and Civil Engineering sectors. Responsibilities include developing project programmes and contributing to tender submissions. This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary between £50,000 and £65,000 plus benefits.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience from Site, Section, or Senior Engineer background.
  • Experience in Rail, Highways, and Civil Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detail within a detailed programme.
  • Update and monitor project process.
  • Introduce changes into the programme.
  • Understand resource and cost loading.
  • Evaluate risk in programmes.

Planning from first principle
Proficient user of P6 software

Location: West London

We are currently looking for a Project or Senior Planner to work for a major civil engineering contractor who have recently won a portfolio of station upgrades across West London. In addition to project based work you will have the opportunity to get into tender planning.

Candidate Profile
  • Degree Qualified in Civil Engineering
  • Be able to plan from first principle
  • Progressed from Site, Section or Senior Engineer type background
  • Experience working for main or regional contractors
  • Experience in the Rail, Highways and Civil Engineering industry
  • Proficient user of P6 software.
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Able to develop detail within a detailed programme
  • Update and monitor project process within the working programme
  • Ability to introduce change into the programme
  • Have an understanding of how to resource and cost load programmes
  • Have an appreciation of introduction & evaluation of risk in programmes
  • Have an understanding of methods used to check programme robustness
  • Ability to provide one off programme outputs
  • Ability to contribute to work winning strategy
  • Working independently to programme structure
  • Learning how to contribute to tender submissions
