Overview

The company is a leading and established manufacturer of plastic parts and applications supplied to various industries such as automotive, aerospace, construction. Pertemps are recruiting on their behalf for a Project/Process Engineer for their operations in the Droitwich area.

Location and Salary

Salary up to £40k per annum. The role is a day shift from Monday to Friday. The company is based in Droitwich; commuting options include Bromsgrove, Birmingham, Redditch, Kidderminster, Worcester, Dudley, West Bromwich.

Responsibilities
  • Analyse engineering and CAD drawings data to ensure manufacturing process is correct, efficient, and tool design accurate.
  • Ensure tooling orders are compliant with project requirements.
  • Approve tool designs, ensuring alignment with product specification and cost effectiveness.
  • Manage toolmakers to ensure adherence to quality and timeline expectations through the entire process.
  • Resolve any manufacturing issues with tooling team and suppliers.
  • Refine and amend any manufacturing process to optimise quality, cost and efficiency.
  • Plan and oversee tooling trials.
  • Prepare detailed documentation including work instructions, set‑up sheets and operating procedures.
  • Conduct and present dimensional reporting to customers, addressing any technical enquiries or concerns.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing teams, troubleshoot any process related issues.
  • Assist in resolving production inefficiencies and defects to maintain product quality.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience within a plastics thermoforming environment manufacturer in a process/project capacity.
  • Proven experience in tooling, process development and project engineering within the plastics manufacturing industry.
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks software and ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience managing tooling teams.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • A qualification such as a degree or HND/HNC in an engineering field is advantageous but not essential.
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools for dimensional analysis and process validation.
  • Ability to build professional relationships at all levels both inside the business and with suppliers/customers.
