Job summary

A recruitment firm in Reading is seeking a Project Planner for an initial 6-month contract. You will be responsible for developing and monitoring project schedules to ensure delivery success, with a focus on managing dependencies across workstreams. Ideal candidates will have experience with large-scale projects, particularly in infrastructure or energy. This hybrid role requires proficiency in MS Project and offers a competitive rate of £400 - £500 per day.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules to ensure successful delivery of projects.
  • Support project managers and stakeholders by providing accurate planning, progress tracking.
  • Manage dependencies across multiple programme workstreams to ensure alignment and minimise delivery risks.

Skills

Hands on delivery experience of large complex projects and programmes.
Delivery experience of HCM Fusion and e-business suite
Proven experience as a Project Planner in large-scale infrastructure or energy projects.
Proficiency in planning software (MS Project or similar).
Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, PMO frameworks).
Experience in dependency management across complex programmes.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Knowledge of risk management and cost control principles.

The Project Planner will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules to ensure successful delivery of projects within SSE. This role supports project managers and stakeholders by providing accurate planning, progress tracking, and reporting to enable informed decision-making. A key focus will be managing dependencies across multiple programme workstreams to ensure alignment and minimise delivery risks.

Skills & Experience
  • Hands on delivery experience of large complex projects and programmes.
