Project Manager - Sourcing Change

Our client, one of the UKs top retailers, are looking for a highly capable Project Manager to join them on an initial 6 month contract basis. The Project Manager must have broad experience, particularly in international sourcing and a strong understanding of International and Asian markets.

Key accountabilities:
  • Ensuring the workstream is well-prepared for success.
  • Project managing and supporting the business lead in the UK, as well as leaders in Asia and the wider delivery team.
  • Managing project risks, issues, and dependencies effectively.
  • Providing regular status updates in line with the Value Stream governance model.
  • Overseeing project finances and ensuring they are accurately reflected in the Value Stream financial system.
  • Managing the delivery of multiple workstreams, with a primary focus on the operating model change. This includes supporting the business lead in rolling out tools for assortment renegotiation/tendering, training, and capability building.
  • Comprehensive risk and issue management.
  • Developing and maintaining an end-to-end plan for the workstream delivery.
Key skills and experience:
  • Experience in engaging and managing external project managers.
  • Proven ability to manage change initiatives across different countries, ideally with specific expertise in Asia.
  • A background in delivering change within sourcing operations, and familiarity with Buying, Merchandising, Design, and general merchandise would be a significant advantage.
  • Experience in delivering organisational change across various employment law jurisdictions would also be beneficial.
