Job description

@one Alliance is a partnership of eight leading companies-Anglian Water, Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska, and SWECO-delivering over half of Anglian Water's capital investment programme. As we enter AMP8, our most ambitious Asset Management Period, we are preparing to undertake our largest project yet.

As our new Project Manager (PDM), you'll manage a team and oversee the development of solutions to ensure multiple projects are completed on time, to quality, water, and safety standards whilst in line with legislation, Alliance governance and processes.

What you'll be doing

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure full compliance with CDM regulations across all schemes by embedding safety and risk management into the TOTEX Delivery Process. Lead audits, checks, and peer reviews to champion a 'Zero Harm' culture.
  • Build and nurture a high-performing, empowered team - ranging from Engineers to Commercial staff - by fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Translate programme-level strategies into clear, actionable plans that ensure all team members understand their role in delivering successful project outcomes.
  • Take full accountability for the end-to-end project lifecycle - from initial need identification and scoping through to construction, handover, sign-off, and resolution of any post-handover warranty issues.
  • Collaborate closely with Commercial and Planning teams to maintain accurate cost and resource forecasts, proactively managing risks and escalating issues to the Integrated Projects Leader as needed.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of solutions that are safe, commercially sound, technically robust, and aligned with project objectives.
  • Ensure all projects meet key deliverables and milestones, including Project Rehearsal and Fit for Assembly stages.
  • Foster an open, approachable, and highly visible team environment that encourages cross-functional collaboration across the @one Alliance, partner organisations, and industry peers to drive innovation and knowledge sharing.
Who we're looking for

What We're Looking For:

  • Recent experience within the Water industry, with strong working knowledge of Health & Safety standards, CDM regulations, and drinking water quality requirements.
  • IOSH qualified, with a solid understanding of risk management and safety compliance across complex project environments.
  • Confident managing multiple concurrent projects, ideally supported by an APMP qualification or similar project management accreditation.
  • Skilled in engaging and professionally challenging a wide range of stakeholders, using excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Experienced in operating within a commercial framework, with a good understanding of NEC Option C contracts and their practical application.
  • Proven ability to make informed, timely decisions in fast-paced environments, always acting in the best interest of the business.
  • A strong track record of leading high-performing teams in results-driven settings, with the ability to step back from operational detail and lead strategically when needed.
