Job description

Vicinity Technologies Limited, a fast-growing leader in the UK’s 5G and AI revolution, is seeking a Project Manager with a strong R&D background to join our pioneering team. In this role, you won’t just track milestones — you’ll help guide cutting-edge research and development in advanced 5G, 6G, and Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) technologies from concept to deployment.

Job Responsibilities

- Own technical delivery: Oversee complex R&D projects in wireless systems, ensuring timelines, resources, and technical goals are met.

- Bridge innovation and execution: Translate advanced research concepts into actionable project plans, aligning scientists, engineers, and partners.

- Collaborate across disciplines: Work directly with hardware, software, and system engineering teams to accelerate new product and technology development.

- Drive next-generation solutions: Support integration of 6G, NTN, AI-enhanced networking, and mission-critical systems into commercial products.

- Manage risks and stakeholders: Identify challenges early, communicate effectively with executives, customers, and partners to ensure smooth delivery.

Requirements

- Minimum 3 years of R&D experience in telecommunications, wireless systems, or similar high-tech sectors.

- Solid understanding of wireless communications (5G/6G preferred) — able to discuss PHY, MAC, and system-level architectures with engineers.

- Proven ability to manage projects with a technical core, balancing innovation, resources, and timelines.

- Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

- Familiarity with project management tools and agile methodologies is an advantage.

- A proactive, adaptable team player who thrives in a fast-moving environment.

What We Offer

- Competitive salary based on technical and management expertise.

- Performance-based bonuses linked to successful project and company milestones.

- Equity/share options for high-impact contributors.

- Opportunities to work at the frontier of 6G, NTN, AI-driven networking, and next-gen infrastructure.

- A collaborative culture that values both technical depth and innovative thinking, with clear growth paths into senior leadership roles.
