Job Overview
M Group Telecom is seeking a Project Manager for the Fixed Networks team, supporting the delivery of fibre projects for our client Openreach. The role is based in Portsmouth and involves managing the full network cycle – surveying, designing, building, commissioning, and maintaining fixed, private and mobile operator networks.
Responsibilities
- Manage project timelines, budgets and ensure compliance with client standards and safety regulations.
- Coordinate resources to guarantee that work is completed safely and on schedule.
- Communicate with internal teams and the client, preparing regular progress reports and highlighting risks.
- Resolve issues in line with agreed processes and make decisions in accordance with established standards and procedures.
- Lead project delivery processes, planning and organising work effectively to meet deadlines.
Qualifications
- Experience in managing projects within telecoms or utilities, with a clear emphasis on fibre networks.
- Strong organisational and budgetary management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Demonstrated leadership and attention to detail, including experience leading teams.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and a clear approach to addressing challenges as they arise.
- Excellent communication skills to maintain positive relationships with teams and clients.
- Confidence in preparing reports that track progress and highlight risks.
- Commitment to safety and compliance throughout all stages of the project.
- Applicable for roles that may require 3rd‑party background checks and drug and alcohol testing during onboarding.
