A leading energy services firm in the UK seeks Project Managers for overhead line projects as part of the Great Grid Upgrade initiative. The role involves overseeing project sites, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and serving as the main contact for clients and stakeholders. We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation.
In our Transmission and Renewables Division, we focus on building and maintaining the infrastructure that keeps electricity flowing. From substations to transmission lines, our work makes sure homes, businesses, and communities across the UK have the power they need.
We’re looking for two Project Managers to help deliver overhead line projects as part of the Great Grid Upgrade (GGP) - the UK’s biggest programme to strengthen and modernise the electricity transmission network. These are brand‑new roles, starting with projects in the Birmingham area but open to candidates across the UK. The positions follow a hybrid working pattern - three days on site with flexibility, plus regular travel and overnight stays when required.

Oversee health, safety, quality, and compliance across project sites, keeping documentation accurate and up to date
Act as the main point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and third‑party partners, while coordinating resources with internal teams
Support design and commercial teams by providing technical input, capturing contract changes, and driving efficiency and profitability
Lead, mentor, and inspire the project management team, producing clear reports and representing M Group professionally throughout each project lifecycle
Do you enjoy leading teams, solving problems, and making sure projects run smoothly from start to finish?
Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and NEC3 / 4 construction contracts
Experience in large‑scale construction projects (5+ years), ideally including overhead line work
Confidence working with clients and leading stakeholder meetings
Flexibility to travel across the UK, with a full clean driving license
Relevant qualifications - Project Management, Higher Education degree, and a recognised Health & Safety certificate (e.g. NEBOSH)
