Profile Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Associate to join our market leading EMEA Power and Energy Transition team in London. The successful candidate will play a central role in the origination and execution of advisory mandates in the energy and infrastructure sectors across EMEA. The role is particularly focused on financial modelling and transaction execution support for project finance advisory transactions but will also include assisting in the execution of lending transactions in the Power and Energy Transition team.

The market coverage is Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA) with a strong focus on renewables power energy transition sectors sub-sectors (including carbon capture battery storage low carbon ammonia/hydrogen) as well as other sectors including natural resources transmission and digital infrastructure.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Build, maintain and audit detailed complex bespoke project finance models for greenfield and brownfield energy and infrastructure transactions for debt and equity fundraisings.
  • Conduct sensitivity analysis, scenario testing, debt sizing risk assessments and optimisation of capital structures.
  • Support sponsor investment teams on advisory mandates through model‑driven insights.
  • Collaborate with other advisors including legal, technical, insurance, model audit and sponsor commercial teams to reflect contractual terms in models.
  • Assist in due diligence, financial structuring and documentation review and support negotiations on financing documents.
  • Update models for ongoing projects and prepare credit and marketing materials (teasers, information memoranda, term sheets) and presentations for senior management, sponsor clients, lender groups and investors.
  • Lending and financial advisory mandate support: financial analysis, evaluation of risks, project management, etc.
  • Assist in all aspects of deals including financial modelling, credit/ legal analysis, presentations to relevant committees and deal administration.
  • Assist with review of due diligence materials (legal, technical, insurance).
  • Credit application & pitchbook preparation.
  • Coordination of relevant internal deal‑related processes.
  • Maintain and evaluate up‑to‑date sector market and client knowledge to prepare relevant ad‑hoc study/analysis and support business development activities.
  • Support the booking process and ensure credit files comply with the bank’s policies and procedures.
  • Maintain integrity of relevant processes with focus on day‑to‑day activities to ensure compliance with internal controls and policy.
  • Provide general support and assistance to the team assigned from time to time.
  • Other duties as may be requested by the Managing Director and/or Team Head in support of the division’s ongoing business requirement.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • 23 years in project finance advisory in a bank or advisory/consulting firm or within an energy/infrastructure developer or investment team.
  • Proven experience in financial modelling for project finance transactions with a strong understanding of project finance concepts for the energy and infrastructure sectors - essential.
  • Exposure to energy transport utilities digital or social infrastructure sectors - essential.
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent - essential.
  • Proven organisational, time‑management skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment on multiple transactions concurrently - essential.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative abilities - essential.
  • Credit analysis skills - essential.
  • Excellent communication skills - desirable.
  • Knowledge of project and corporate finance structures coupled with the ability to develop innovative solutions for the client - desirable.
  • Knowledge of relevant markets and sources of finance - desirable.
  • Sector knowledge across Power, Natural Resources and Infrastructure - desirable.
  • Working knowledge of relevant areas of law and accounting - desirable.
