Job summary

A leading aerospace and defense firm is seeking a Project Manager to oversee multiple projects in facilities management. The role involves planning, installation of equipment, and refurbishment of building services, ensuring compliance and documentation accuracy. Ideal candidates will have project management experience, knowledge of contractor management, and an awareness of building regulations. Desirable skills include certifications in health and safety and familiarity with AutoCAD. This position is based in Wednesfield, UK.

Qualifications

  • Previous project management experience within a facilities management environment.
  • Understanding of current IEE Electrical Regulations.
  • CITB SMSTSS and IOSH certifications are advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Plan projects and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Install plant and equipment.
  • Refurbish building services and modernize utilities.
  • Produce drawings and designs for compliance.

What does the role look like?

We are working towards a future building layout optimising our machines and process flow; helping us meet our increasing customer demands. Whilst this is being undertaken, we're taking the opportunity to update our building services as required to ensure the long‑term health of the site.

We have numerous exciting projects in all areas of the business many demanding installation and overhaul of building services, civils works, and machine / equipment moves to reach the end goal. During this period of transformation all site documentation will need to be kept up to date to ensure the sites continued compliance from an EH&S and regulatory standpoint.

The successful candidate must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, interact with other teams, suppliers, and value streams. This person must have excellent technical, communication, organisational skills, project management and building services experience.

What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?
  • Project planning and communication with stakeholders.
  • Installation of plant and equipment.
  • Refurbishment of buildings services / modernisation
    • Electrical, wiring and switch gear
    • Data connections
    • Comfort F‑Gas
    • Plumbed services, potable water, compressed air, gas, sprinklers
  • Produce drawings and designs of future layouts to scope and compliance.
  • Coordinate factory installation projects, from design, feasibility, CAPEX, implementation, and final review / sign off.
  • Documentation control for transformation and compliance activities.
  • Contractor coordination, supplier selection, oversight (EH&S, RAMS as well as reviewing progression) and final sign off works.
