A leading food and beverage company is seeking a Project Engineer for its Tutbury Factory in Derbyshire. This role involves managing the design, installation, and commissioning of capital investment projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in FMCG manufacturing and managing Capex projects, along with a degree in a relevant engineering field. We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our team at our Nestlé UK&I, Tutbury Factory.
The Project Engineer will manage the design, installation, commissioning of capital investment projects on site and support the start‑up lead in the start‑up phase of the project, within the defined scope of responsibility or specialisation. Ensure that the objectives of the investment project charter, design specifications, Nestlé standards, and international standards are implemented and adhered to.
A day in the life of a Project Engineer is dynamic depending on the status of the project.
At the concept stage you will be engaging with stakeholders, suppliers and technical support to agree a design which satisfies the technical, quality and safety standards of the business, and you will prepare business case studies to present to the business for CAPEX funding.
At the installation stage you will be coordinating the daily and upcoming activities. Managing contractors and suppliers you will be permitting work daily, visiting the site and ensuring site safety and install quality, at the same time communicating back to stakeholders progress, budget and timelines.
To be successful in this role we expect you to ideally have experience working in an FMCG manufacturing environment.
Having experience managing Capex projects is also essential for this role.
The ideal candidate will also have experience ensuring that the engineering side of projects has been implemented (e.g. buildings, equipment installations, piping, utilities, etc.) in accordance with the defined timing, cost and quality, the URS and the characteristics of a unit operation.
