Joining the Operational Systems Support Group (OSSG) at Sainsbury's offers the opportunity to play a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of logistics systems that support our logistics operations across Sainsbury's and Argos. As a key member of the SC & L Change Team, you will have the chance to work collaboratively with depot systems teams and JS Tech teams to resolve system issues, communicate changes effectively, and provide essential support to end users. This role provides a dynamic environment where you can utilise your expertise in logistics systems, influence decision‑making, and contribute to enhancing operational efficiencies, all while receiving support for your personal development and growth within a forward‑thinking organisation.

Please note, due to the upcoming Christmas break we anticipate that candidates will be interviewed from W/C 5th January 2026.

What you'll do
  • Collaborate with the project manager to meticulously plan, schedule, and coordinate project activities to ensure timely delivery.
  • Monitor project progress and deadlines, proactively identifying and addressing any deviations to keep projects on track and within budget.
  • Prepare thorough project documentation, including comprehensive scope documents, compelling business cases, detailed project plans, insightful status reports, and accurate meeting minutes.
  • Facilitate seamless communication and collaboration between project team members, stakeholders, and external vendors to foster alignment and drive project success.
  • Track project expenses and resources meticulously, maintaining accurate records and producing insightful reports to inform decision‑making.
  • Champion effective risk management and issue resolution strategies, promptly escalating and resolving any challenges to minimize project disruptions and maintain momentum.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management practices by actively supporting the implementation of best practices and process enhancements.
  • Coordinate project activities and ensure they are completed on time.
  • Assist in the development of project plans, including scope, schedule.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Track project progress and update stakeholders on milestones and deliverables.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Regularly communicate with project stakeholders to ensure alignment and manage expectations.
  • Support project managers in resource management and allocation.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
  • 2+ years of experience in project coordination or a related field.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
