Position

Programme Manager

Location

Brighton with hybrid working available.

Salary

£95k – 105k (negotiable depending on experience) plus bonus, car allowance and excellent benefits package.

Company

Our client is an integrated design and build solution provider operating in the water sector. They have over 1,000 staff working across eight regional centres, supporting six long‑term water sector frameworks and increasingly joint ventures and alliances.

Role

You will report directly to the Waste Programme Director. The role will oversee, lead and support a programme of work including Construction and Delivery Leads and Site Managers. Support the design phase and manage the construction and commissioning phases, by setting up contracts and ensuring they are completed in the most efficient manner to the specification, within the time required and within the tender estimate without risk to the health and safety of all concerned while ensuring good customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Overall performance of wastewater projects including contract staffing, supporting hand‑over from design phase to project delivery and setting overall contract strategy.
  • Project management practices from scheme conception through to end‑user acceptance.
  • Overall health & safety responsibility and reporting to the monthly project management meeting.
  • Offer support, advice and guidance to the Construction and Delivery Leads on all aspects of the contract and assist with objsving, solving problems.
  • Staff training and development.
  • Maintain client relations, resolve client‑related problems and develop opportunities for further business.
  • Promote exceptional safety and delivery quality standards to direct and subcontracted workforce.
  • Safeguard company reputation by ensuring good relationships with joint venture partners and suppliers.
  • Ensure appropriate Technical, Safety and Environmental reviews are carried out for each project.
  • Ensure sufficient trained personnel are available and aware of their responsibilities.
  • Ensure Construction and Delivery Leads / Site Managers carry out appropriate reviews and approvals of all MS/RA and construction delivery plans to support H&S requirements.
  • Ensure works procedures are produced to assist with control quality where applicable.
  • Ensure all site non‑conformities are reported and approximate costs identified.
  • Manage all commercial aspects of the project in a timely and proactive way with accurate forecast and estimates.
  • Understand and implement Quality, Safety and Environmental Policies and Targets.
  • Ensure customer requirements are satisfied to enhance perception and satisfaction.
  • Maintain practical knowledge and appreciation of all technical disciplines associated with water and wastewater design and build projects.
  • Maintain a positive and solution‑oriented approach, providing open and honest feedback.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Project management experience in a variety of project sizes and complexity.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a construction related discipline.
  • APMP or equivalent.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to collaborate closely with clients and end users.
  • Delivery‑driven with ability to set targets and motivate multi‑disciplinary teams to deliver to time, cost and quality objectives.
  • 콘>Extensive experience in large‑scale infrastructure project delivery.
  • Strategic, operational, technical and management skills.
  • Experience in wastewater treatment.
  • Experience using Primavera or Power‑Plan.
  • Chartered or near‑chartered in a construction discipline.
  • Working knowledge of construction Health & Safety.
