The Opportunity

We’re seeking a passionate and proactive Program Coordinator – Creative Learning and Connect to deliver Perth Festival’s school, education and community engagement programs.

Reporting to the Engagement and Regional Manager, you’ll coordinate a range of opportunities for students, teachers and local arts industry across both the Creative Learning and Connect programs. You’ll liaise with educators, artists, venues, and internal teams to ensure smooth delivery, deep community engagement, and meaningful outcomes.

This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in relationship-building, has strong coordination skills, and is passionate about creating access to the arts for students, teachers and creative communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Delivery: Coordinate the delivery of Creative Learning and Connect initiatives, including Festival Lab, masterclasses, workshops and school engagement
  • Maintain and build partnerships with artists, educators, schools, and cultural institutions
  • Develop and share teaching resources aligned to the Festival program
  • Assist in programming content for Partner Schools and identify ways to expand audience reach
  • Administration & Budgeting: Prepare contracts for artists and program partners
  • Manage program budgets and expenditure within Festival guidelines
  • Meet key internal deadlines and delivery milestones
  • Contribute to post-program reports, funding applications, and acquittals
  • Liaise with Production, Marketing, Ticketing, Sponsorship and Philanthropy to ensure alignment and smooth delivery
  • Support schools booking processes and student ticket offers
  • Assist in promoting the program through content, documentation and event support
  • Promotion & Engagement: Help create written and visual content for marketing and communications
  • Host or support community events, forums, and Connect-related functions
  • Ensure program documentation is captured for archival and reporting purposes
You’ll Bring
  • Experience coordinating educational or community engagement programs, ideally in arts, festivals, or cultural organisations
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong time management, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience engaging respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and/or culturally diverse communities
  • Confidence working independently as well as within a collaborative team environment
Special Requirements
  • Valid Australian Driver’s Licence and willingness to drive company vehicles
  • Availability to work some evenings and weekends during the program delivery period
  • A valid Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain one
