This role will support a growing practice across multiple office locations and offers a dynamic blend of non-contentious and contentious construction work, as well as professional indemnity insurance in construction.

About the Role

As a Professional Support Lawyer, you will play a key role in enhancing the firm's knowledge management, training, business development, and legal research capabilities. This position will provide you with the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across multiple offices, ensuring the firm maintains its reputation for providing high-quality legal advice to clients in the construction sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Horizon Scanning: Regularly prepare internal bulletins and keep fee earners informed of important legal and practice developments in construction law.
  • Business Development: Work closely with the Business Development team to identify market trends and topics that can showcase the firm's expertise in core practice areas.
  • Drafting: Develop and prepare a variety of materials, including articles, legal commentaries, client briefings, and mailshots, while ensuring these resources are easily accessible for all fee earners.
  • Knowledge Management: Take responsibility for gathering, organizing, and distributing knowledge across the firm, making sure it is stored and readily accessible to support colleagues in their work.
  • Legal Research: Provide support for fee earners by advising on available resources and conducting relevant legal research when required.
  • Training and Development: Design and deliver internal training sessions, ensuring that colleagues are kept up-to-date with the latest developments in construction law.
  • Client Relationships: Prepare and deliver relevant information and training for clients, strengthening the firm's client relationships.
The ideal candidate will have
  • A proven background as a Construction Professional Support Lawyer, with expertise in non-contentious construction, contentious construction, and professional indemnity insurance in construction.
  • Strong drafting and presentation skills.
  • A keen interest in professional training and development, business development, and marketing.
  • A self-motivated approach with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • An understanding of using AI tools for solution generation.
