Job Description
Educational Service Unit 7 is seeking applicants to fill the position of an anticipated Professional Development Coordinator. This 225‑day (1.0 FTE) position is responsible for providing professional learning support for educators. This multifaceted position facilitates customized support to meet the unique needs of ESU 7’s school districts.
Requirements for the position are:
- Master’s Degree
- Minimum of five years teaching/administrative experience
The ideal candidate will possess the ability to provide engaging training and support to ESU 7 school personnel as well as have knowledge of (or a willingness to learn):
- Early Childhood Education
- Classroom Coaching

Required Responsibilities and Job Tasks
- Establishing and Maintaining Interpersonal Relationships—Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.
- Making Decisions and Solving Problems—Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems. Resolving problems in educational settings.
- Communicating—Providing information to others in written form, e‑mail, or in person; in meetings of the Board, committees, or staff meetings. Communicating with people outside ESU 7, representing ESU 7 to the public, and other external sources. This information can be exchanged in person, in writing, or by telephone or e‑mail; in meetings, conferences, or presentations.
- Gather information: Observe, receive and otherwise obtain information from all relevant sources.
- Training and Teaching Others—Identifying the educational needs of ESU 7 district personnel, developing formal educational or training programs or classes, and teaching or instructing others. This includes: conducting training for staff, coordinating educational content, coordinating instructional outcomes, and developing instructional materials.
- Analyzing Data or Information—Identifying the underlying principles, reasons, or acts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts.
- Updating and Using Relevant Knowledge—Keeping up‑to‑date technically and applying new knowledge to your job. This includes using: interpersonal communication techniques and group facilitation techniques.
- Monitoring Processes, Materials, or Surroundings—Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.
