Overview
Pay rate: $19.00/hr
Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm
Location: Northampton, MA
Duration: 3 months
Responsibilities
- Work Safely
- The operator will oversee and manage production of product from raw materials through to final quality control
- The operator will produce a variety of rod types based on production schedule set forth by production coordinator
- Requires efficiently balancing mixing, extrusion, drying, cutting, and firing steps to maximize overall production and meet customer order requirements
- Entails tracking and management of key materials and consumables to ensure uninterrupted and quality production
- Works with process engineering and management to troubleshoot quality or production issues
- Responsible for completing department production and quality data
- Responsible for the start-up, shut-down, and cleanouts of all production equipment in assigned area
- Make adjustments to processing parameters to achieve desired final specifications
- Store raw materials, in-process materials, and finished goods in their proper locations
- Operate a forklift to move pallets of raw materials, totes filled with powder, etc
- Will need to operate equipment at elevated heights occasionally (ladders/platforms)
- Pack finished goods to be shipped as needed
- Load/unload trucks as needed
- Maintain work areas and equipment
Qualifications
- GED/High School Diploma preferred
- Manufacturing Experience a plus
- Team player
- Strong attention to details
- Standing, reaching, bending, pushing etc.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs unassisted
- Fork lift experience preferred
