Job Opportunity - Production Team Leader
Salary £28,000 - £33,000pa initially depending on skills/experience
Our small but developing specialist print business needs a dynamic, highly organised production Team Leader and second in command. The role is full time based in Nottingham and is to oversee production through our factory, liaise with our valued clients and develop improvements to the internal systems to keep up with the growing sales and reputation we have generated.
We are a 5 man family owned business specialising in bespoke design led print projects using our skills in hot foil blocking, embossing, , casebinding, packaging, thermography , duplexing and other print and print finishing processes.
We offer several different niche print based processes to a wide and varied client base. We have developed our own range of notebooks called ‘mybooks’ to sell independently with a separate branding, as well as concentrating on improving our services to our existing clients. We have achieved a nation wide client base over the last 26 years of designers, printers , and large organisations. Our aim is to consolidate existing clients, grow nationally into targeted market segments and to explore exporting our highly skilled niche services to Europe and beyond.
The job is a production management role in ensuring orders received are processed smoothly through the factory to agreed timescales, assessing each project and due to the niche nature of the work, proactively advising clients on ways of making the work flow more smoothly to improve the end result.
It involves managing and motivating a production team of 3-4 skilled operators to maximise productivity in a professional highly organised way operating under pressure of deadlines.
Flexible working hours are occasionally required due to client demands.
Experience of the print or print finishing will be very beneficial for all but the most able candidates
You need to be IT literate, most fundamentally in email and internet for client and supplier liaison. You must be capable in excel and word, with knowledge of a graphic design package ideally. You will be a good communicator, confident in handling a wide range of clients in some of the industries top design agencies to ensure we deliver quality results on time.
You should be highly organised and able to suggest, test and implement changes to internal systems to improve production efficiency.
£28,000 - £33,000pa dependent on skills / experience, (salary growth and profit bonus scheme in line with the success of the company)
Membership of profit related bonus scheme and additional pension contribution after successful initial trial period.
Flexibility in hours and holidays is offered in return for similar flexibility in working hours / arrangements to best suit business needs
Industry knowledge & training can be provided as will IT skills training as required for the right candidate.
