Overview

Production Supervisor - Glamorgan - up to £32,500 + Benefits - Ref 1944

I am currently recruiting for a Production Supervisor to work for a cutting-edge technology company based in Glamorgan. Salary up to £32,500 + Benefits. The organisation has been in operation for many years and are worldwide leaders within the design, development, and manufacture of their highly intelligent products. As a business they turnover north of £85m, employ 500 people and are constantly evolving their legacy products as well as designing and developing new innovative products to bring to market.

In line with demand for their products and to support the business with their growth plans they have the need to appoint another Production Supervisor on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of approximately 15 staff members (Assembly and Operative roles) and take full ownership of the team to drive performance and ensure timelines are met on the production line.
• Ensure all team KPIs are consistently met with a focus on achieving, and ideally exceeding, production output targets.
• Assess and maintain correct staffing levels at each station to complete required tasks efficiently.
• Liaise with Procurement staff to stay up to date on material requirements and availability to ensure products can be assembled in line with targets and expectations.
• Drive Continuous Improvement by identifying and implementing necessary process enhancements.

Shift Pattern

You will start on early shifts (6-2). After understanding the role and business, you will move to a 2-shift pattern (early and late) until the end of December: 6-2 days and 2-11 Mon-Thurs and 2-6 Fri. From January onwards, there will be single early shifts (6-2, Monday-Friday).

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience as a Production Supervisor, Shift Supervisor, Manufacturing Lead, Team Lead or similar
• Experience supervising and leading a team
• Experience with an MRP (Ideally SAP)
• Experience with Continuous Improvement

Desirable Requirements

• Experience in a highly regulated environment (Aerospace, Automotive, Medical or Pharmaceutical)
• 6 Sigma
