Overview

Production Planner & Scheduler
Location: Laughton, East Sussex
Salary: £33,000 - £38,000 per annum
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Are you an experienced Production Planner & Scheduler with strong ERP/MRP knowledge and a background in electro-mechanical manufacturing? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a progressive scientific instrument manufacturer and play a key role in ensuring customer commitments are met through effective production scheduling and material planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create, maintain, and modify production plans in ERP/MRP systems to meet delivery requirements.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Buyers, and Production to manage forecasts, stock, and scheduling.
  • Raise and process Works Orders, ensuring accuracy in ERP transactions and BOMs.
  • Support new product introductions, engineering changes, and production improvements.
  • Generate planning reports, monitor stock accuracy, and support Lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Deputise for Manufacturing Support when required, including BOM and part setup.
About You

Essential:

  • Proven planning experience in an electro-mechanical production environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of MPS and MRP modules within ERP systems.
  • Skilled in raising Works Orders and stock transactions.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and IT skills, including MS Office.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.

Desirable:

  • Experience with SAP Business One.
  • Knowledge of Lean techniques such as Kanban, 5S, or Kaizen.
  • Qualification in Supply Chain Management (Diploma, Degree, or IoSCM).
