About the Role

This role is responsible for planning all orders into the production and planning schedules to ensure the customers deadlines are met to the best of their abilities. Oversee all stock control tasks related to Production Planning. Communicating with departments such as Customer Support Quality Production and Warehouse to help ensure schedule adherence and help with completion of objectives. The Production Planner must be able to understand and manage the new MRP system in order to optimize production and customer service levels.

What to expect
  • Planning all customer orders in the most efficient way to maximise production capacity.
  • Responsible for raw materials allocation for all work orders in the plan to meet production dates aligned with customer required delivery dates.
  • On a daily basis review the MRP plan to production performance and report any changes on customer delivery dates.
  • Liaise with Purchasing and Quality departments to ensure raw materials arrive and can be sampled within the necessary timescales.
  • Daily planning of the production / packing programs to meet 24 hours KPI from date PO was received.
  • Overseeing allocation or document queries and authorising batch changes for Production / Warehouse.
  • Participation and support in projects as and when required.
  • Minimising plan changes wherever possible by working closely with Production Team Leaders to match workload with resources to maximise productivity in the plant.
  • Investigate system errors and issues to provide effective and timely solutions.
  • Work on reducing system errors and issues where possible
  • Advising the Warehouse team on transfers of raw materials from external Warehouses to the plant to meet Production deadlines.
  • Provide cover for the other team members during holidays or absences.
  • Support stock takes and cycle counting.
What are we looking for
  • Experienced in a similar scheduling or planning role ideally in FMCG or food manufacturing
  • Self-motivated ambitious and looking for career progression
  • Confident communicator who works well under pressure and prioritises effectively
  • Highly organised with a sharp eye for detail and a commitment to high standards
  • IT literate comfortable using Excel MRP systems and planning tools like Orchestrate
  • Degree-level qualification (especially in a Supply Chain-related discipline)
