Job Description

The Production Operative will be involved in mechanical fitting (preparing and building machines for test, fitting drives, couplings, lubrication and cooling systems) along with sub assembly prep work (assembling mains and neutral terminal boxes, exciter bases and frames).

The Candidate

Main duties include:

  • Mechanical fitting - preparing and building machines for test, fitting drives, couplings
  • Sub assembly prep work - assembling mains and neutral terminal boxes, exciter bases, frames
  • Measuring various components to tight tolerances with micrometers, verniers, bore mics, DTI gauges
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy work area in line with 5S standards
  • Adherence to EHS and ensuring a safe working environment

Key skills/abilities:

  • Previous experience of mechanical and electrical fitting
  • Ability to work to drawings and schematics with complete accuracy, understanding geometric tolerances and key symbols
  • Ability to work within a team, use own initiative to meet production targets and deadlines
  • Available to work shifts, specifically late shift and flexible to support overtime as required
  • Ability to work to instructions and quality standards, completing quality documentation
