Overview

Crown Paints, part of the Hempel Group, is looking for Production Operatives to join our growing team in Hull. With cutting-edge technology and a modernised site, now is the perfect time to be part of something special!

What is a Production Operative?

As a Production Operative, you’ll be at the core of our operations! You’ll help create high-quality paint products, operate advanced machinery, and ensure everything runs smoothly, including:

  • Manufacture paint: ensuring the correct raw materials are released into tanks to create the perfect paint
  • Filling of paint - getting the paint in the can through automated filling lines.
  • Hygiene & Safety: Keep the site clean and maintain high safety standards
  • Equipment Operation: Use state-of-the-art machinery which includes automated filling lines, SCADA and HDMI Screens, packaging robots and manufacturing tanks
  • Quality Control: Ensure every product we produce meets Crown Paints’ high-quality standards

Not an expert right away? That’s okay, we will train you! We’re looking for people who are eager to learn and have a positive, can-do attitude. Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is a plus, but your passion and attention to detail matter most.

Ideally candidates will:
  • Have an eye for detail and the ability to meet production targets
  • Enjoy working as part of a team and being flexible across different roles
  • Have a curious mindset and be open to learning new skills
  • Be IT literate as we are on a journey to utilise digitalisation at the forefront of our operations
Flexible shifts
  • Nights: 10.15pm - 6am: Sunday to Thursday
  • Days: 9 day fortnight with a cheeky alternate Friday off!
  • Week 1 6am - 2pm (Monday to Friday)
  • Week 2 2pm - 10:30pm (Monday to Thursday)
Salary after training
  • For Night Shifts: £38,500
  • For 9-Day Fortnight Shifts: £34,000
