Production Operative

Lorient – Newton Abbot

The primary objectives of this position is:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production Operative to join our team at Lorient. This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining high standards in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Operate machinery and tools safely and efficiently, following all training and instructions.
  • Maintain buffer stock of popular product lines, including common sizes and colours.
  • Meet production and packing deadlines while striving for zero defects in quality.
  • Assist with packing and ensure finished goods are stored appropriately before dispatch.
  • Keep the work area clean, tidy, and free from hazards.
  • Dispose of waste and scrap materials in line with company guidelines.
  • Follow all Health & Safety procedures, especially when operating machinery.
  • Be flexible and willing to work extended hours or shifts as required by business needs.
  • Report any faulty or non-functioning equipment to the Section Leader or Supervisor.
  • Support other production areas when needed to help meet deadlines.
  • Ensure customer orders are fulfilled on time and meet quality standards.
  • Contribute to improving work procedures and suggest changes to enhance departmental performance.
  • Adhere to company Quality and Environmental standards and monitor output consistency.
Qualifications
