Job description

Great opportunity to work as a Production Line Leader for one of the largest providers of fresh flowers to major supermarket chains throughout the UK.

Staffline is recruiting for Production Line Leaders for day shift in Alconbury.

The rate of pay is:

  • Day shift is paid at GBP13.78 per hour
  • Overtime is paid at GBP17.23 per hour

This is a full-time role; we are recruiting for day shift only.

The shift pattern will be:

  • 4 on 3 off
  • 3 on 4 off

The hours of work are:

  • 6:30am to 7pm

Please note you must be flexible and willing to work on night shift during peak periods such as Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, and Christmas.

This is a temp-to-perm opportunity for the right candidates.

Your Responsibilities as a Production Line Leader
  • Lead, coach, and motivate the team to achieve performance targets and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and customer specifications across all processes.
  • Deliver an efficient packing operation daily.
  • Oversee daily operations, manage production schedules, and resolve issues promptly.
  • Provide training and ensure adherence to operational procedures and policies.
  • Support manufacturing initiatives and drive continuous improvement, meeting KPIs within budget.
  • Contribute to developing Standard Operating Procedures for packaging.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient working environment.
  • Keep accurate records of production data, waste, and returns.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Previous supervisory or team management experience.
  • Knowledge of production processes, quality standards, and health & safety protocols.
  • Experience in fresh produce, food production, or FMCG environments.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.

The ideal candidate will be reliable, lead by example, and maintain a positive, solution-oriented approach. Experience with safety training, Rubicon ERP, lean manufacturing, and UK retail environments is advantageous. Flexibility and willingness to undergo training are required.
