We're looking for a proactive and safety‑driven Depot Production Leader to join our engineering team and play a key role in delivering a reliable, high‑performing fleet for our customers every day.

In this pivotal operational role, you will oversee day‑to‑day depot activity, ensuring trains are maintained, presented, and delivered into service safely, on time, and to the required standards. You'll help build a motivated, high‑performing team and support a culture of continuous improvement across the depot.

What You'll Do
  • Ensure the daily delivery of rolling stock into service—safe, punctual, and to specification.
  • Maintain a safe working environment, promoting strong safety and environmental practices.
  • Ensure maintenance and repair work meets all GTR Fleet standards.
  • Deploy resources effectively to achieve shift production output targets.
  • Monitor compliance and ensure staff and contractors follow all health & safety procedures.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents and losses, enabling effective follow‑up.
  • Contribute to a customer‑focused, cost‑effective, and engaged team.
  • Provide relief cover for the Shift Production Manager as required.
What You'll Bring
  • An engineering apprenticeship (or equivalent qualification) is ideal.
  • Strong knowledge of traction & rolling stock maintenance standards.
  • Solid understanding of railway operating and safety rules.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Competence in relevant IT and operational systems.
