Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferable.

Job Role: Production Engineer

The Production Engineer holds a pivotal role within the Operations Team, tasked with driving operational efficiency and achieving excellence across all production activities. This role encompasses training, production control, new product introduction, auditing, engineering and continuous improvement initiatives.

Hours of Work: 36.75 hours per week: 8.15am – 5.00pm Monday to Thursday; 8.15am – 1.00pm Friday

Responsibilities
  • Lead lean manufacturing including 6S, SMED, Workplace organisation and process streamlining
  • Manage kaizen projects utilising both experience and LSS methodology
  • Lead 'Zero Pellet Loss' Project
  • Lead on site auditing
  • Deliver Tangible Savings through lean processes
  • Execute process improvements, staring on higher running products and working throughout the range
  • Ensure process improvements put into place are adhered to.
  • Work closely with Safety & Quality to ensure safe processes and reduce rejects
  • Work closely with operations to eliminate knife usage as far as possible
  • Work with procurement to deliver stock reductions
  • Track projects and Savings
  • Perform Time In Motion analysis, make improvements and report savings.
  • Audit Time In Motion
  • Design, aid in manufacture of and implement practical work aids and Poka yoke tools to aid in safety, quality performance, efficiency and operator experience
Qualifications
  • Previous experience of working within in a manufacturing environment (preferable).
  • Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to influence and lead others.
  • Ability to work independent and part of a team.
