Job summary

Our much‑loved brands include BBC Science Focus, BBC Wildlife Magazine, Your Home, Gathered.how, BikeRadar and Cycling Plus.

Position

We’re looking for an experienced Production Editor to join the BBC Wildlife Magazine team on a full‑time permanent basis.

Responsibilities
  • Edit copy so it sparkles, with eye‑catching headlines, captions and standfirsts.
  • Write clear, compelling and consistent copy, checking scientific facts and maintaining brand tone.
  • Guardian of style and tone, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Commission regular sections, completing first edits and liaising with writers.
  • Work confidently under tight deadlines, thrive in a deadline‑driven environment.
  • Communicate well, be highly organised and enjoy being part of a busy team.
Requirements
Essential
  • Experience as a production editor or senior sub‑editor.
  • Knowledge of InDesign, Word, Excel and general Mac skills.
  • Excellent command of the English language and creative use.
  • Excellent eye for detail and fact checking.
Desired
  • Knowledge of natural history.
