Job summary

A leading technology solutions company in the UK is seeking a PVT Placement Student to join their multi-disciplined test team. This role focuses on RF, firmware, and systems engineering, perfect for undergraduates who have completed 1st and 2nd year of a relevant Engineering degree. You will participate in testing and qualification tasks and work with RF testing equipment. A supportive environment is offered to help grow your skills and experience.

Qualifications

  • Experience or interest in RF testing using RF test equipment.
  • Ability to write clear test and bug reports.
  • Interest in GPS systems or receivers.
  • Knowledge of digital electronics.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in testing and qualification of RF, analogue, and digital electronic modules.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplined test team.
  • Act as a mentor to placement students.

Job description

You will be working as a member of a multi-disciplined test team which provides the Testing and Qualification of RF, Analogue and Digital Electronic modules and the RF outputs of complete simulators. The role will encompass a broad outlook in test design and execution of software and/or hardware projects. The role will suit undergraduates who are looking to further their career as an RF, Firmware or Systems Engineer.

An Engineer will act as mentor throughout the placement.

Qualifications

As a PVT Placement Student, you will have completed the 1st and 2nd year of a relevant Engineering degree course. We will be looking for experience or an interest in:

  • RF testing - Use of RF test equipment, Spectrum Analysers, Power meters and RF oscilloscope.
  • Data modulation schemes
  • Writing clear and concise test/bug reports
  • Developing, where appropriate, automated test environments, using automation tools and scripts
  • GPS systems or receivers
  • Digital Electronics
  • RF, GPS and/or Communication Engineering
