Technical Product Manager — Aylesford, Kent / £35-45k / Annual Bonus

Our client, a renowned player in the construction materials sector, is seeking a talented Technical Product Manager to join their dynamic team. As a market leader, this company is dedicated to delivering innovative, high-quality products that meet the evolving needs of the construction industry.

Position Overview

As the Technical Product Manager, you will drive the success of the company’s product portfolio by providing technical support to stakeholders including architects, contractors, and specifiers, ensuring the company’s products are effectively specified and utilized in construction projects. You will help foster strong relationships with key decision-makers and promote the company’s solutions to meet industry requirements.

Responsibilities

• Handle general day-to-day technical enquiries received via phone, email, and social media
• Source information from BDMs and customers to support the drafting and supply of project specifications
• Provide U-value and condensation risk analysis reports as required
• Deliver RIBA-accredited and non-accredited CPDs to architects and new applicators
• Liaise with associations and other manufacturers to include the company’s products and logo in specifications and websites
• Identify potential architects, specifiers, and contractors involved in construction projects requiring EWI and render
• Establish and nurture relationships with key decision-makers in the industry
• Educate specifiers and stakeholders about the benefits and features of EWI and render, and how they meet building codes, regulations, and environmental standards
• Work with architects and specifiers to ensure EWI and render are specified in projects, providing technical support
• Monitor industry trends, competitors’ activities, and changes in building codes to identify opportunities and challenges

Requirements

• Strong communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to work with people from non-trade backgrounds
• Ambitious, proactive, and forward-thinking with a drive to improve
• Robust industry background and knowledge of competitors; able to share insights to aid sales arguments
• Comprehensive understanding of the construction industry and a desire to share knowledge
• Ability to build relationships proactively and work cross-functionally, liaising with management to support business needs
• Excellent teamwork and the ability to work independently, manage own diary, and prioritise workload
• Analytical mindset with ability to draw conclusions and present recommendations from data
• Great attention to detail and high accuracy in communication
• Interest in pursuing relevant further education or industry qualifications
