Description
Our client is seeking an Aircraft Materials & Logistics Operative to join a critical engineering logistics team based at a major UK airport. This role sits at the heart of aviation operations, acting as the vital link between supply chain and production engineering to ensure aircraft materials, tooling, and equipment are available when and where they are needed. Operating within a 24/7, safety‑critical environment, this position offers variety, responsibility, and structured development for individuals with a strong attention to detail and an interest in aviation logistics.
Responsibilities
- Receive, quality‑check, issue, store, and dispatch aircraft materials and tooling in accordance with approved technical procedures.
- Deliver and distribute aircraft materials across airside and landside locations to support engineering operations.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment for loading, unloading, and storage activities.
- Maintain high standards of storekeeping, stock control, and housekeeping at all times.
- Conduct cyclic stock audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality legislation.
- Complete all mandatory and role‑specific training requirements.
Qualifications
- Level 2 qualifications (or equivalent), including Maths and English.
- Ability to obtain a Counterbalance Forklift Licence and additional material handling licences (training provided).
- Medical fitness to undertake a physical role involving repetitive and sometimes heavy lifting.
- Willingness and flexibility to work a shift‑based pattern.
- IT literacy with the ability to learn and use logistics and inventory systems.
- Experience in warehousing, logistics, or supply chain operations.
- Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Full UK driving licence (Category B, manual) with a minimum of 12 months' experience and no more than three penalty points.
- Ability to obtain an Airside Driving Permit.
- IATA and/or ADR Dangerous Goods certification.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and compliance.
