Job description
Overview

About Aios Medical

Our overarching mission is to accelerate the mass-market global adoption of consumer biotech products so every human can live at least 100 healthy years. Our immediate focus is excess bodyweight. We are accelerating the global take-up of GLP-1 medications by increasing their accessibility to help solve obesity worldwide. To do that, we’re building an AI-powered clinical operating system: ClinicOS. ClinicOS makes it effortless for consumer brands to easily offer direct-to-patient healthcare, globally. We work with external Brand Partners, as well as using this infrastructure to scale our own internal consumer healthcare brands.

Since we launched Fella Health in the US in June 2021, Fella has positioned itself as no-nonsense weight loss for busy bigger guys. Today, we operate multiple brands across the US & UK — our two biggest are Fella Health (US & UK) and Bolt Pharmacy (UK). Our infrastructure aims to serve 100 million patients worldwide by 2035 and then enable next-gen biotech products at scale to increase the proportion of humans living at least 100 healthy years. We strive to become the world’s first trillion-dollar healthcare company. We have grown rapidly, serving thousands of customers with high NPS and generating meaningful revenue while being cashflow positive for over 24 months. We are a young startup with significant momentum and opportunity ahead. This is still Day 1 and all our work is ahead of us. We are backed by top healthcare and consumer investors including Y Combinator, Global Founders Capital, AngelList Early Stage Fund, BrandProject, and founders of Indeed, Curative, Alan, Kaia Health, Vouch Insurance, and Not Boring.

Role: Product Designer

You’ll be taking a senior, high-ownership role in product design at Aios Medical. You’ll help shape design leadership, judgment, and structure across customer-facing products and internal tools as the team scales. Some work will be visible and polished, some messy and internal—all of it matters. You’ll own projects end-to-end, from discovering problems to shipping solutions you can stand behind. You may work with engineers on customer app flows, improve internal workflows, review CX tickets, or defend design decisions in collaborative discussions. The work sits at the intersection of user needs, business goals, and real constraints.

You’ll report to the Head of Product and work closely with engineers, operations, CX, and other designers. This is a full-time, remote role. We’re async-friendly and flexible with hours, with some overlap with UK or US time zones helpful.

Responsibilities
  • Senior product design ownership: take ownership of design work across products and run projects independently from problem definition to shipped solution.
  • Customer apps: design and improve customer-facing web and mobile app experiences, with mobile app work a major focus.
  • Internal tools & workflows: work on internal products used by clinical, operations, enrollment, and CX teams with emphasis on workflow, usability, and efficiency.
  • Complex problem solving: work on products with real commercial and regulatory constraints; design within those boundaries.
  • Business & user understanding: start from business problems and user needs, and clearly explain the problem you solved and why.
  • End-to-end project ownership: lead projects independently, including discovery, user research, solution definition, and shipping.
  • Clear communication: articulate thinking, defend decisions, and engage in constructive discussions.
  • Hands-on leadership: provide senior guidance, help shape design practice, and support other designers while remaining hands-on.
Qualifications
  • Experience: 5+ years designing digital products across web and mobile, including customer-facing mobile apps.
  • Regulated/complex products: experience with design in contexts shaped by regulation, compliance, legal requirements, or strong business rules. Ability to improve clarity and usability within these realities.
  • Ownership & execution: capacity to define what needs to be done, engage the right people, and move from idea to shipped solution with limited ongoing direction.
  • Practical craft: focus on clarity and usability within fixed requirements and technical constraints, delivering meaningful improvements.
  • Communication: ability to explain problems, decisions, and tradeoffs and defend your work with conviction.
  • Portfolio: grounded in real product work showing problems, constraints, and impact, not just polished screens.
  • Nice to have: formal or equivalent design training; experience collaborating with engineers and understanding implementation details.
Culture & Values
  • Mission-focused: we strive to serve 100 million patients by end of 2035 and are dedicated to our patients.
  • Integrity: operate in ambiguity with high ethics and transparency.
  • Urgency and excellence: pursue ambitious standards, deliver high-quality work, and move quickly.
  • Frugality and pragmatism: prudent use of resources and avoidance of waste.
  • Focus and resilience: maintain focus on impactful work and long-term customer value.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Compensation: $80k-$140k/yr plus equity
  • Vacation: generous time off
  • Remote: fully distributed and remote-friendly
  • Healthcare: comprehensive medical insurance
  • Professional development: budget for books, courses, coaching ($1000/yr)
  • Personal wellness: budget for gym and health apps ($1000/yr)
  • Equipment: WFH gear provided as needed (e.g., MacBook)
  • Culture: opportunity to shape our early-stage culture
