Job Description

We are seeking a Procurement Category Specialist to support the development and implementation of global procurement strategies. In this role, you will manage assigned categories and subcategories to ensure supply security, cost optimization, and full compliance with company standards. You will play a key part in sourcing raw materials and services, maintaining strong supplier relationships, and delivering market intelligence that drives strategic decision‑making across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Global Category Managers (GCMs) to implement category strategies aligned with business goals and market conditions.
  • Manage selected spend, sub‑categories, suppliers, and items in accordance with the overarching purchasing strategy.
  • Execute end‑to‑end sourcing activities, including RFQs, bid evaluations, negotiations, and supplier selection using e‑sourcing tools.
  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies while maintaining accurate supplier Master Data (e.g., price breaks, lead times).
  • Lead supplier qualification, performance assessments, and development plans. Address non‑conformities and quality issues to drive continuous improvement and build strong supplier partnerships.
  • Support GCMs by supplying data and insights to identify and manage cost‑saving initiatives across the organisation.
  • Perform reporting tasks such as tracking price movements, savings initiatives, and other KPIs for your assigned spend.
  • Handle administrative activities, including internal claim management, invoice queries, categorisation, pricing updates, and other procurement support tasks.
Education, Experience & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, economics, business administration, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in procurement (direct or indirect materials and services).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Microsoft Planner is an advantage.
  • Experience working with Generative AI tools or technologies is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in change management.
  • Self‑driven team player with strong communication and excellent interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating across regions, functions, and with external partners.
  • Solid understanding of the Procure‑to‑Pay process and procurement intelligence.
  • Ability to set priorities, manage demanding workloads, and deliver on aggressive timelines.
  • Strong customer focus, negotiation skills, and the ability to conduct cost/benefit analyses and support alternative decision‑making.
