Butler Ross are pleased to be recruiting a procurement manager on behalf of our client, an independent builders / trades merchant. This is a hands-on leadership role focusing on managing the procurement operations and a small procurement team - which will involve the day-to-day management of the team including supporting development, as well as the performing procurement duties including aligning procurement strategy with business growth. This position will be deeply involved in shaping both the procurement operations, as well as the culture and ethos of the team.

This position is fully on site in their Bristol office, and is offering a salary of £42,000 - £45,000 PLUS a 10% bonus.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a small procurement team, responsible for handling a spend exceeding £25M
  • Align purchasing strategy with sales plans and stock management.
  • Understand and manage key partnerships with associated external purchasing groups
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, to optimise margins and execute seasonal/bulk stock plans.
  • Enhance ERP systems capabilities
Ideal Experience:
  • Previous procurement or purchasing experience - it is not a requirement for this to be from a similar sector or industry (though that would likely be helpful!)
  • Experience in developing commercial plans and stock management
  • Proven team leadership / mentoring skills; this could be managing any team or department!
