Astute's Power Team is partnering with a leading O&M provider to recruit a Procurement Manager for its Energy from Waste facility in Coventry, West Midlands.

The Procurement Manager role is a strategically important position and comes with a salary between £55,000 - £60,000 per annum, as well as excellent benefits.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Procurement Manager role
  • Develop and execute procurement strategies that align with project goals, ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, and sustainability on sourcing.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and value engineering in procurement activities.
  • Manage supplier relationships and ensure compliance with company procedures and requirements.
  • Lead contract negotiations, develop contract tender documentation & formulate tender comparisons following a tender process.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with environmental, health and safety regulations specific to the waste to energy sector.
  • Develop and manage procurement budgets for ongoing and upcoming projects, ensuring that all purchases stay within allocated budget.
  • Prepare and present regular procurement reports to senior management.
  • Ensure accurate records of all procurement activities and transactions are maintained for audit and compliance purposes.
Professional qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CIPS, CPSM, or APICS are preferred.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of procurement experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience with procurement in the energy, or heavy engineering sectors - waste to energy experience would be particularly beneficial.
  • A proven track record of managing mid to large scale procurement operations, including complex equipment sourcing, vendor negotiation, and contract management.
  • Proficient in MS Office and procurement software.
