Role: Procurement Legal Counsel

Location: London (3 days p/w in office - East London). Fulltime role

Build the Deals That Power a Global Insurance Leader! Great contracts don't just protect a business - they enable it to grow faster, smarter, and safer. That's where you come in.

We're looking for a commercially sharp Procurement Legal Counsel to take the lead on high-impact supplier and technology contracts at a fast-growing, internationally recognised insurer. This is a brand-new role within Procurement with real visibility, real influence, and real career stretch.

You’ll be the legal brain behind complex third-party deals - from SaaS and cloud agreements to global professional services and strategic outsourcing - helping the business innovate while staying protected. Expect to partner closely with Procurement, IT, Security, Compliance, and senior stakeholders across the UK, Europe, and the US.

Why this role stands out
  • Growth mode - Join a business scaling rapidly and investing heavily in systems, suppliers, and innovation
  • True business partnering - You won’t sit on the sidelines; you’ll be a trusted advisor shaping commercial strategy
  • International scope - Cross-border stakeholders, diverse projects, big-picture exposure
  • Complex, meaningful work - Cloud, SaaS, MSAs, Statements of Work, regulatory frameworks, and high-value supplier relationships
  • Career-building opportunity - A chance to expand your in-house profile in a role with autonomy and visibility
What you’ll be doing
  • Leading negotiations on a wide range of supplier and technology contracts
  • Advising on risk, regulatory compliance, and commercial structure
  • Strengthening contract frameworks (MSAs, SLAs, KPIs, exit and resilience planning)
  • Helping the business get value for money without compromising protection
  • Becoming the go-to legal partner for Procurement and Supplier Management
You’ll thrive here if you are:
  • A qualified lawyer with strong commercial contract experience (specifically Procurement)
  • Confident negotiating IT, SaaS, cloud, and complex services agreements
  • Comfortable balancing risk management with business enablement
  • Skilled at building trust quickly with senior, non-legal stakeholders
  • Energised by growth, change, and being part of something evolving
