Job description

We have a great opportunity for a Process Technician to join our team at Wilmington WTW.

You do not need a background in the Water industry. We would welcome applications from candidates outside of the sector, bringing fresh perspectives and ideas.

This role is an essential front-line role, which the business simply cannot operate without you. Every day is different, you will be working in all weather conditions, carrying out a range of tasks, to ensure the essential functions of our water treatment works operate to maintain the supply to our customers and protect the environment. PPM of maintenance of equipment to support the operation of the plant.

What you’ll be doing as the Process Technician
  • The operation of plant and equipment used in the treatment of groundwater to ensure it meets strict drinking water standards, including cleaning, basic maintenance, routine checks and fault‑finding.
  • Monitoring, collating and reporting data to ensure statutory and regulatory compliance is met.
  • Undertaking health and safety, and security checks; highlighting and reporting hazards, near‑misses and incidents; making the area safe and escalating any issues to your line manager as soon as possible.
  • Accurately reporting faults and recording work and asset information to improve business performance using a field laptop.
  • Receiving chemical deliveries, ensuring the correct checks and paperwork are completed.
  • Providing technical assistance and guidance to new starters as well as existing colleagues.
  • Attending all team meetings, engaging with safety briefings and company communications, and raising constructive feedback with the management team, with suggestions for improvements.

Base Location: Wilmington WTW – DA1 1NT

Working Pattern: 38 hours Monday‑Friday 7:30 am – 15:36 pm, plus standby rota payments & overtime opportunities can increase your earning potential upon completion of essential company training.

Due to the nature of this role you must hold a full UK driver’s licence.

  • Take ownership of responding quickly to faults, being curious to fully understand the problem, and identifying the best solution to resolve it the first time.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with the team.

  • Proactive – take the lead on recommendations and improvements around the site and communicate effectively.
  • Must be prepared to be trained in safety procedures.
  • Knowledge and awareness of health and safety standards.
  • Full UK driver’s licence.
