Job description

A vacancy has arisen for a Process Engineering Supervisor at our Hull site (HU9).

This integral role is responsible for ensuring the effective organisation across our tool setting processes, coordinating with production leads to meet tool requirements, and maintain timely availability to meet targets.

Alongside this, the Supervisor will monitor systems for tracking tool usage and maintenance schedules to minimise downtime, while enforcing strict safety protocols.

Additionally, the role supports the Engineering Manager, oversees operational processes, ensures compliance with quality standards, and drives workflow efficiency across the department.

Key responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Production Shift Leaders to understand tool requirements and ensure timely availability.
  • Overseeing the tool setting process, ensuring that all tools are properly set up and ready for use with safe start/stop processes in place for tool changes.
  • Ensure that process engineering is supporting production operations to meet set targets and drive improvements in overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), scrap reduction, and real time issues that result in waste.
  • Ensure that necessary safety checks and maintenance in and around machine areas are routinely actioned, highlighting areas of concern as necessary and without delay.
  • Highlight downtime, quality complaints, and set-up issues that affect plant performance.
  • Work with peers to achieve effective shift handovers, driving common standards and procedures so that the business operates efficiently 24 hours per day.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, contributing to projects across the shift, alongside your direct team, as well team members across departments.

Qualifications
  • You will have process engineering experience gained from within an injection and, ideally, blow moulding facility.
  • You will have a keen interest in developing your expertise, both to strengthen your own personal development, and also support the growth of the business.
  • You may not have line management experience, but you will be keen to explore this in taking ownership and accountability of results delivered through others, as well as supporting their further development.
  • Ideally, you will have achieved a recognised qualification with an Engineering and/or Polymer Processing, or industry equivalent.
  • You may be familiar with Engel, Negri Bossi, and KraussMaffei machinery, as well as Sepro robotics.
  • You will be an effective communicator who can liaise with key stakeholders from across departments.
  • Notwithstanding your experience to date, you will take pride in working with your team and other key individuals to deliver a more efficient, safe and clean working environment.
