Duties of a Principle Sustainability Consultant

• Lead sustainability workstreams and act as Discipline Project Lead.
• Develop and coordinate project resource plans.
• Deliver sustainability documents for planning applications.
• Lead client and design team workshops with clarity and confidence.
• Delegate, manage, and review the work of junior colleagues.
• Undertake or oversee:
  • Part L, Part O, overheating and energy simulations
  • Environmental and wellbeing assessments (BREEAM, WELL, HQM)
  • Whole life carbon assessments
  • Net zero carbon strategies
  • Operational energy analysis
  • Support Technical Excellence communities and contribute to knowledge development.
  • Mentor and train junior team members across technical, consultancy, and project delivery skills.

Requirements of a Principle Sustainability Consultant

• Advanced building performance simulation (Part L, Part O, thermal comfort).
• Leadership of sustainability workstreams and project teams.
• Training and mentoring experience.
• Delivery of environmental and wellbeing assessments.
• Whole life carbon assessment (ideally using OneClick LCA).
• Experience supporting successful planning applications, with Cardiff and London market experience advantageous.
