A leading defence organisation in Northern Ireland is seeking a Principal Manufacturing Engineer to support the Industrial Transfer Team. This role involves engaging with stakeholders, supporting bid generation, and delivering manufacturing transfer programmes. The ideal candidate will have formal engineering qualifications, extensive manufacturing knowledge, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Qualifications

  • Must have a formal engineering apprenticeship and degree.
  • Looking for someone with extensive manufacturing engineering knowledge.
  • Ability to work autonomously is essential.

Job description

This position will be responsible for providing the Manufacturing Engineering focus within the Industrial Transfer Team representing the department at various forums to engage with key stakeholders and promote the department.

Salary

Circa £47,000 depending on experience

Working pattern

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 4-5 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity

An exciting new opportunity has become available within the Industrial Transfer Team for a Principal Manufacturing Engineer to join the team.

The opportunity also allows an individual to grow their knowledge within manufacturing as part of development into potential future opportunities. This role will give an individual into the front end aspects of the business from initial bids through to delivery and also be both internally and externally focussed.

The tasks will be both tactical and strategic providing stretched objectives for personal growth and appreciation of the wider business.

  • Extensive knowledge of Manufacturing Engineering
  • Support to the bid generation for Manufacturing Industrial Transfer campaigns.
  • Working alongside the Industrial Transfer PM to generate a robust Bids for Manufacturing
  • Identification of supporting function requirements to ensure a successful Industrial Transfer programme
  • Delivery of Industrial Manufacturing Transfer Programmes in accordance with business and customer expectations
  • Interface between the external stakeholders and the Manufacturing organisation to ensure a smooth and efficient transfer programme is achieved
  • Defining the Manufacturing Industrial Transfer operating principles and procedures
  • Ability to write reports and technical assessments of current and future proposals
What we're looking for from you
