Prospero Teaching is an Education Recruitment agency that provides teaching staff to schools in the United Kingdom. If you are a QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) qualified primary teacher, you may be able to join Prospero Teaching and work on a variety of placements in different schools.

Working as a supply teacher can be a flexible and rewarding way to work in education, allowing you to experience teaching in various schools and settings.

Due to staffing shortages, schools require a high volume of day-to-day and short-term supply teachers to cover planned and last-minute absences across different subjects.

Cover work is provided to a high standard, with no expectation to plan lessons, mark, or assess.

This role is ideal for gaining more experience before applying for permanent positions. Supply teaching offers a great opportunity to get a foot in the door in local schools.

This position is open to both experienced teachers and those newly qualified.

About the Supply Teacher Position:

The Successful Supply Teachers will have/be:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Strong classroom management skills and ability to provide an inclusive learning environment
• Confidence teaching across Key Stages 1-2
• Excellent organisational skills
• High expectations of pupil achievement and behaviour
• Strong interpersonal skills for communicating with parents, pupils, and staff

To be eligible, the Supply Teacher must have/be:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Proof of eligibility to work in the UK
• Two professional references covering the last two years
• A fully enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
