A leading healthcare provider in Newark & Sherwood is seeking a motivated Intellectual Disability Nurse. This role involves facilitating access to primary healthcare for patients with intellectual disabilities and working with local GP practices. Ideal candidates are passionate about advocating for this community and have experience in primary care settings. The position requires a commitment to training staff and empowering patients to engage in health screenings.
We have an exciting opportunity to recruit an Intellectual disability nurse to our Primary care liaison Team. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic RNLD who is passionate about supporting reasonable adjustments for patients with intellectual disabilities in the community. We welcome applicants who are interested in supporting people with intellectual disability to enable them to have their physical health needs met within a primary care setting. We support practices to keep a learning disability register and promote the health needs of the population. We are looking for someone who is passionate about enabling our patients to access generic health screening and break down barriers in order to achieve this. The post is within Newark & Sherwood locality within Nottinghamshire.
The post holder will participate in the delivery of enhanced training to primary care colleagues around the annual health check and reasonable adjustments for people with intellectual disabilities. Ensure those aged 14+ who meet the eligibility are included on the annual health check register.
