About the Role

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist independent school in the Bamber Bridge area of Preston, supporting children and young people aged KS1–KS4 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and associated learning needs.

This welcoming and nurturing setting provides a holistic and therapeutic approach to education, helping pupils develop both academically and emotionally through tailored learning and high levels of individual support.

We are looking for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant who has experience working with pupils with ASC and is confident supporting across all key stages (KS1–KS4). You will play a vital role in promoting independence, emotional regulation, and positive learning outcomes for pupils with a range of complex needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Support pupils with ASC and additional needs in both group and 1:1 settings
• Assist with the delivery of personalised learning programmes
• Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff across all key stages
• Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning
• Provide personal care and support with daily routines where required
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all pupils

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Previous experience supporting pupils with ASC and SEND (essential)
• Confidence working across KS1 to KS4
• Experience providing personal care support
• A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their full potential
