Job summary

A manufacturing recruitment agency is looking for an experienced Domestic Press Toolmaker in Dudley. The role involves servicing and repairing multi-stage progression tools and manufacturing new tooling parts using conventional equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong competencies in maintenance and precision grinding with the ability to work independently. Training for crane and forklift operation will be provided.

Job description
Overview

Our client have a modern manufacturing facility based in Dudley. Due to a Toolmaker retiring they are now looking for an experienced Domestic Press Toolmaker to join the team.

Responsibilities
  • Service & repair of multi-stage progression tools which includes assembly & dismantling of press tools to regrind parts / replace press tool punches, dies, springs etc.
  • Manufacture new tooling parts using conventional tool room equipment such as Jones & Shipman 540 surface grinders, conventional miller, pedestal driller and centre lathe.
  • Carrying out preventative die maintenance (PDM), production tooling problem solving.
  • Contribute to the development of the tool room.
  • Carry out precision grinding of small high precision parts using jigs & fixtures.
  • Maintaining tooling spares.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • The successful candidate must be enthusiastic, approachable and be receptive to instruction whilst remaining competent eventually being able to work on own their own initiative without the need for supervision.
  • A crane & forklift licence is required but not essential on application as training will be provided.
