A leading NHS trust in London is seeking enthusiastic Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician Apprentices. The role includes completing a GPhC-accredited qualification while rotating through various pharmacy services. Candidates must have at least 5 GCSEs including Maths, English, and Science, with a strong commitment to professional development. Responsibilities include attending training sessions and maintaining effective communication skills. Join a dynamic team dedicated to excellent patient care and support your future in healthcare.
Functional Skills Level 2 is accepted as equivalent evidence of English Language and Maths. A Statement of Comparability from UK ENIC must be held for qualifications obtained overseas. ESOL is not equivalent and doesn't meet the entry requirements, but IELTS (Band Score 7.0 overall with min. 6.0 in all components) may be considered.
Full details of your qualifications MUST be clearly stated on your application form to be considered for shortlisting. Formal evidence i.e. certificates from awarding bodies MUST be provided at or prior to interview.
In addition, you must meet apprenticeship funding requirements as defined by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education. If you have lived in the UK for less than three years or if you already hold a qualification in pharmacy or another closely related subject at RQF Level 3 or above, you may not be eligible.
There is a requirement to work throughout all premises where BHRUT provides pharmaceutical services, but you will spend most of your time between Queen’s Hospital and King George Hospital.
Please kindly note that if we receive a high volume of applications, we will close the advert earlier than 16/12/25.
We’re an organisation that is getting better and better and our improvements are driven by a determination to deliver care we’re proud of and our patients are happy with. We are the last acute trust in London to introduce an electronic patient record and our maternity services have been rated good by the Care Quality Commission.
We operate from two main sites – KGH in Goodmayes and Queen’s Hospital in Romford. We have two busy emergency departments with more than 330,000 people visiting them last year. We’re campaigning to secure the £35m we need to transform the A&E at Queen’s and get rid of corridor care.
We’re proud of our regional Neurosciences Centre, Radiotherapy Centre and Hyper Acute Stroke Unit. We’re also part of the North East London Cancer Alliance. We run a Women’s Health Hub in Ilford; an Ageing Well Centre in Hornchurch; and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) at Barking Community Hospital and at St George’s Health and Wellbeing Hub. These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The majority of our 8,400 staff – who come from 146 different countries – live in the three diverse London boroughs we serve and are from black, Asian and minority ethnic groups. Many can work flexibly and more than 400 of them are on our Ofsted accredited apprenticeship programmes. We’re proud to be a London Living Wage employer.
Do you have a passion for self-development and learning? Are you fascinated with science, health and medicines? Do you aspire to be a healthcare professional and deliver high‑quality patient care?
