Knebworth & Marymead Medical Practice is a modern, forward-thinking general practice operating across two well-established sites in Knebworth and South Stevenage, serving a diverse patient population of around 13,000 in suburban and semi-rural settings. We are a teaching and training practice, supporting GP trainees, medical students, nursing students, and other learners. We are looking to appoint an experienced and motivated Practice Nurse to join our friendly, supportive, and well-organised team. The successful candidate will have experience in core areas such as cervical screening, childhood and adult immunisations, wound care, contraception advice, travel health, and infection prevention and control. The Practice Nurse will work across both sites, providing a broad range of clinical services in line with national guidance and local protocols. Duties include:

Our multidisciplinary team includes GPs, advanced clinical practitioners, practice nurses, healthcare assistants, pharmacists, and a capable administrative team. Job responsibilities
Work collaboratively with GPs, advanced clinical practitioners, other nurses, healthcare assistants, pharmacists, and administrative staff to ensure smooth patient pathways and an integrated approach to care. Participate in practice meetings, multidisciplinary case discussions, and training events. Contribute to the development and review of clinical protocols, patient information resources, and service delivery models. Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of work.
Experience
Essential: Experience of working as a Practice Nurse in a primary care environment; experience in cervical screening, contraception, wound care, and immunisations; understanding of QOF and clinical governance.
Desirable: Experience leading or supervising a nursing team; training in travel health and smoking cessation; experience managing chronic disease clinics (e.g. asthma, diabetes, COPD); experience in quality improvement and audit.
Qualifications
Essential: Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration
Desirable: Postgraduate qualification in chronic disease management or leadership
