An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Nurse to join The Oaks Medical Centre based in Hull

We have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated Practice Nurse to join our friendly and dynamic Primary Care team for 16-18 hours a week.

Main duties of the job

Nurse duties include Chronic Disease reviews, Childhood Immunisations, contraception

Diabetes Nursing knowledge

Respiratory Nursing

Wound care & injections

Job responsibilities
  • Clinical Duties:
  • Conduct chronic disease management clinics, including diabetes, asthma, COPD, and hypertension.
  • Perform cervical cytology (smear tests) and provide sexual health advice.
  • Administer vaccinations and immunisations, including childhood and travel vaccines.
  • Provide wound care, including dressings and suture removal.
  • Conduct health checks and screenings.
  • Manage minor illnesses and injuries, providing treatment and advice.
  • Provide lifestyle advice, including smoking cessation, weight management, and dietary advice.
  • Support patients in managing their long-term conditions through education and self-care advice.
Person Specification
Experience
  • Registered Nurse RN with current NMC registration.
  • Competence in chronic disease management, wound care, and immunisations.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in a General Practice or primary care setting is desirable
