A healthcare facility in Bury is seeking an experienced Practice Nurse to join their team. The role involves providing child immunisations, cervical cytology, and managing chronic disease reviews. Candidates should be registered nurses with relevant training in immunisation and cytology. Commitment to professional development and excellent communication skills are essential. We are seeking an experienced Practice Nurse essentially to join our friendly practice nursing team, but also a colleague who will be committed to supporting the whole practice team effort.
This role primarily will be to provide child immunisations, smears, travel vaccines, injectable medications and some phlebotomy. Chronic disease management reviews of diabetes, asthma and COPD will be advantageous. We are looking for a colleague who is motivated. A good communicator and listener and always willing to understand the needs of patients, go the extra mile when required to provide a high standard of patient care A colleague with an interest in diabetes would be an advantage.
In addition, we are looking for a colleague who will give commitment to ongoing professional development and who also has high levels of integrity and loyalty.

COPD reviews.
Blackford House is a training practice with 8,000, situated on the outskirts of Bury two minutes from the M66.
We have three General Practitioner Partners and one Practice Manager Partner. In addition, we have three part-time salaried GPs and three GP registrars.
Our nursing team currently comprises of an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Practice Nurse, HCA and one vacant PN post.
The admin team consists of an Assistant Practice Manager, a Team Leader/IT Lead, an Assistant Team Lead and 7 administration/reception team members.
We also have our own in-house Pharmacist, a counsellor and physiotherapists.
We are a forwarding thinking practice who hold good levels of integrity and loyalty in high regard. Working as a team and supporting each other is always our main priority.
Our services are delivered from a large purpose built surgery with free parking on site.
Identifying, managing and supporting patients at risk of developing long-term conditions, preventing adverse effects on patient's health.
Cervical cytology
Child immunisations
Travel health and vaccination
Asthma reviews
COPD reviews
Maintain accurate clinical records and to ensure read codes are used effectively.
Develop, implement and embed health promotion and well-being programmes.
Support the team in dealing with clinical emergencies.
Manage Emergency Drug Kit.
Monitor and ensure the safe storage, rotation and disposal of medicines.
Support and participate in shared learning within the practice.
Continually review clinical practices, responding to national policies and initiatives where appropriate.
