Job description
Overview

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Chemical Biology and Bioengineering to work under the supervision of Professor Yimon Aye for a period of up to 12 months.

The project involves developing and applying a novel integrated platform to study the chemical molecular mechanisms and signalling consequences of reactive small-molecule metabolites in organ regeneration, leveraging state-of-the-art chemical biology tools and established tissue injury models, in particular the use of versatile regeneration-competent zebrafish models. This project is funded by the Academy of Medical Sciences (AMS).

Responsibilities
  • Manage your own academic research and administrative activities, including small-scale project management and coordinating multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.
Qualifications
  • PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Biology, or a related area (or be close to completion) prior to taking up the appointment.
  • Experience in interdisciplinary research, including small-molecule chemistry, biochemistry, cell-based studies, and model organism work.
Location and Availability

The post will be based at the Chemistry Research Laboratory, 12 Mansfield Road, Oxford, OX1 3TA, and the Rodney Porter Building, Sibthorp Road, off South Parks Road, Oxford, OX1. The appointment is available from January 2026.

The project involves work with regenerative models and collaborative research under the guidance of Professor Yimon Aye.
