Overview

We are recruiting for Porters to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients at East & North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, Lister Hospital. This is a 24/7 365 day department. Full training will be provided, but previous hospital experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Move patients using beds, wheelchairs and trolleys.
• Change medical gases and collect blood products.
• Take specimens to the pathology lab and deceased to the mortuary.
• Adhere to Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Cooperate with the Trust to maintain suitable standards of Health and Safety.
• Participate in training as identified and put skills into practice.
• Fulfil other duties as appropriate to the grade from time to time.

Qualifications / Training

• English and Maths to GCSE level.
• Willingness to undertake training as required.
• Good customer care skills.

Previous Experience

• Working in a related patient/customer related field.
• Working to deadlines.

Desirable

• Working in a hospital environment.
• Understanding of portering duties.
• Any previous related training.
